Measuring mixes by the cup
Small batches of thinset, patching plaster or two-part epoxy are often measured with a kitchen measuring cup. Mixing instructions are usually written as a ratio (e.g. 1 part hardener to 2 parts resin) or in liters per bag, so convert the bag's water amount to cups: 5.5 L of water is 23.2 US cups. Keep a dedicated set of cups — cured thinset doesn't come out of the kitchen ones. The epoxy calculator covers resin volumes.
