Celsius to Fahrenheit Converter
Updated Formulas shown
Multiply °C by 9/5 (1.8), then add 32: 20 °C × 1.8 + 32 = 68 °F. Unlike length or weight, this isn't a single factor — the scales have different zero points.
20 °C = 68 °F
Formula: °F = °C × 9/5 + 32 (exact)

How to convert degrees Celsius to degrees Fahrenheit
- Type the value in degrees Celsius into the converter (or into the right-hand box to go the other way).
- Multiply the Celsius value by 9/5 (1.8).
- Add 32 to get degrees Fahrenheit.
- Round to a sensible precision with the Decimals control; the table below covers the values people look up most.
Degree Celsius to degree Fahrenheit formula
°F = °C × 9/5 + 32. The factor is exact by definition (NIST SP 811), so any rounding comes only from how many decimals you keep.
Convert 20 degrees Celsius
20 × 9/5 = 36; 36 + 32 = 68 °F
Convert -10 degrees Celsius
-10 × 9/5 = -18; -18 + 32 = 14 °F

Temperature limits for common DIY materials
- Concrete: most bagged-mix directions want the air, ground and concrete kept above 40 °F (4 °C) for the first 24–48 hours. Below that, cover the slab with insulated blankets; never pour on frozen ground.
- Exterior latex paint: 10 °C (50 °F) minimum for standard formulas; low-temperature paints go down to about 2 °C (35 °F). Surface temperature counts, not just air.
- Caulk and sealants: typically 4–38 °C (40–100 °F) application range — check the tube.
- Thinset and grout: generally 10–32 °C (50–90 °F).
